This 6-day trekking program takes you through the Toktogul region to Arslanbob village. The route includes walking around Toktogul lake, trekking to Karasuu and Kapka lakes, crossing the Bel-Monchok pass at 3,400 meters, and exploring the valleys of Otuz Art and Kizil-Unkur.

Each day includes guided hiking, picnic lunches, and overnight stays either in tents or local homestays. The program also includes a short transfer by vehicle from Kizil Unkur to Arslanbob. Participants will experience lakes, forests, and small mountain villages along the way.

In the morning, we drive to Taktalik village and start trekking. Picnic on the top of the Taktalik range, followed by a descent to Karasuu Lake. Overnight and dinner in the tent.

During this hiking day, we cross a series of small mountains and meet local beekeepers. Picnic on the way. In the late afternoon, we reach the forest of Kizil-Unkur valley. Overnight and dinner in the tent around 2,000 m.

In the morning, we have a short trek to reach Kizil-Unkur village through the walnut forest. Meet the driver and have lunch before transferring to Arslanbob. Around 1h driving. Accommodation with a local family for dinner and overnight.

Do I need to be physically fit?

Yes. This is a multi-day trekking tour with 5–8 hours of hiking per day and mountain passes reaching 3,400 m. A good level of physical fitness and previous hiking experience is recommended.

Age Limit: 18–50 years old.

What is the maximum altitude?

The highest point of the trek is the Bel-Monchok Pass at 3,400 m.

What accommodation is provided?

Guesthouses, tents, and homestays with shared bathrooms. Conditions in remote areas are simple. Accommodation depends on the route.

What meals are included?

Traditional Kyrgyz meals are served (meat, rice, noodles, vegetables).
All meals are Halal.
Breakfast: Tea/coffee, bread, butter, eggs, vegetables, fruits.
Lunch: Salad, sandwich, bread, dried fruits, vegetables.
Dinner: Hot meal, dried fruits, jam, bread, tea.
Diet Options: Vegetarian options are available; bring your own special food for strict dietary needs. Gluten-free food is available in cities.
Water: Not included; bring your own bottle or filter.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Provided by KAGAN: Tent, kitchen staff
You Should Bring: Sleeping bag, mattress, filter bottle, small backpack (40–50 L), trekking stick (optional).
You will carry your own backpack. Porter horses carry luggage.

Do I need a sleeping bag?

Yes. Since several nights are spent camping in tents, you should bring a suitable sleeping bag for mountain conditions.

Weather and Packing Tips

Weather: Temperatures vary with altitude. Check local forecasts before the trip.

Clothing:

Base layer, warm layer, waterproof jacket
Gloves and warm hat
Extra socks and underwear
Shoes: Trekking boots with ankle support, plus camp shoes (slippers/Crocs recommended)
Other: Headlamp, sunscreen, sunglasses

What happens in case of an emergency?

Local people live along the route and can assist in emergencies.
Guides carry a satellite phone during the trek.
Basic first-aid kits are carried by the guides.

Medical Information

High Altitude: Consult your doctor if you are sensitive to altitude.
Medication: Bring any personal medicine you require.

Do I need a visa?

Citizens of the EU, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and some other countries can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 60 days.

Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date.
Other Nationalities: Check https://evisa.e-gov.kg for your country.

What is your booking and cancellation policy?

Deposit: €300 to confirm booking
Final Payment: Pay remaining in cash on arrival in Bishkek or via bank transfer (bank fees not included). Credit card payment is possible.
Cancellation: Deposit is non-refundable but can be used for a future trip.

Nous avons apprécié le fait d'être en autonomie pour découvrir le pays, tout en n'ayant pas à se préoccuper du planning et des activités et des commodités ennuyantes (aller-retour à l'aéroport).

Nous avons été accueilli dans cette agence à taille humaine, qui nous a présenté notre tour, puis avons eu les clefs de notre 4X4, et c'était parti pour 15 jours en autonomie, avec des check réguliers a distance avec nos guides (anglophone puis francophone).

Pour une des premières proposées par l'agence, rien à redire, tout s'est bien passé, chaque stop avait son intérêt, chaque lieu valait la peine d'être vue afin de bien profiter du Kirghizistan.

Nous avons pu également adapter le séjour initial proposé puisque nous restions quelques jours en plus.

Lors de notre séjour, un voyant moteur s'est allumé sur la voiture, l'agence Kagan a su réagir et nous trouver un mécanicien à notre étape, qui a réparé la panne (injecteur mort), sans le moindre frais pour nous, et sans la moindre contrainte car le mécanicien s'est déplacé jusqu'à notre logement.

Il ne manque qu'un petit livret à recevoir au départ pour être encore plus autonome, et tout serait parfait !
