1 Day. Bishkek → Toktogul

BISHKEK → TOKTOGUL

Meeting at your lodge in Bishkek. We transfer to Toktogul, 280 km south of the capital. On the way, we walk to a mountain lake at 3,400 m above sea level. At the end of the day, we arrive at our guest house in Toktogul. In the evening, we drive to the beach of Toktogul Lake to see the sunset. Overnight and dinner in the guest house.

2 Day. Trekking to Karasuu Lake

TAKTALIK VILLAGE → KARASUU LAKE

In the morning, we drive to Taktalik village and start trekking. We have a picnic on the top of the Taktalik range before descending to Karasuu Lake. Overnight and dinner in the tent at 2,064 m.

Early in the morning, we continue through a landscape of small mountains and meet local beekeepers. In the afternoon, we reach our camping place in the forest of Kizil-Unkur at 1,530 m.

6 Day. Trekking and Transfer to Osh

KIZIL-UNKUR → OSH

In the morning, we meet our driver and follow the road to Osh, the second biggest city of Kyrgyzstan. We drive 200 km to Osh with lunch on the way. In the afternoon, we arrive in Osh, check into the guest house, rest and shower. Then we walk to Suleyman-Too to see the panorama of the city. Dinner in a restaurant and overnight in the guest house.

7 Day. Transfer to Kojokelen

In the morning, we drive 100 km to Kojokelen village, located in the heart of the mountains. We arrive at a local family house and walk through the beautiful canyon. We also meet a team of shepherds who will serve as porters for the luggage. Overnight and dinner in the local family house at 2,270 m.

8 Day. Trekking to Kosh-Moynok Valley

In the morning, we start trekking to the Sary Bel Pass at 3,137 m. Through the trees, we hike up into the mountains with lunch on the way. We then descend to Kosh-Moynok Valley and set up camp by the river. Overnight and dinner in the tent at 2,851 m.

9 Day. Trekking to North Sary-Mogul Valley

Early in the morning, we start trekking up to Kosh-Moynok Pass at 3,225 m. We cross a small forest and descend to Kichik Alay village, with lunch on the way. In the afternoon, we arrive at our campsite at the entrance of Sary-Mogul Valley at 2,800 m. Overnight and dinner in the tent.

We cross the mountain pass at 4,303 m. This is a difficult day of hiking, with lunch at the top of the pass and beautiful views of glaciers and lakes. We then descend to the campsite near the lake. Overnight and dinner at 4,000 m.

12 Day. Trekking to Sary-Mogul and Transfer to Base Camp of Peak Lenin

In the morning, we hike up to the first alpinist camp on the glacier. We cross the Puteshestvennikov Pass at 4,100 m and have lunch on the way. In the mid-afternoon, we reach the alpinist camp at 4,400 m above sea level. Dinner and overnight in the alpinist camp.

Frequently Asked Questions

How difficult is the trek?

The tour includes steep climbs and long walking days of around 5–7 hours. You should be in good physical shape. The route reaches altitudes of up to 4,300 m, and the recommended age range is 18–70.

What should I know about safety and medical requirements?

Local people are present in some areas and can help with evacuation in case of serious injury. The guide carries a satellite phone and a basic first-aid kit. If you are sensitive to high altitude, consult your doctor before the trek and bring any personal medication you need.

What accommodation is provided?

Accommodation includes guest houses, tents and yurts with shared bathrooms. In remote areas, conditions are simple and accommodation depends on the route.

What meals are provided?

Meals are traditional Kyrgyz food and all meals are Halal. Vegetarian options are available, while guests with strict dietary requirements are advised to bring their own special food for the mountain sections. Gluten-free food is available in larger cities. Water is not included.

What should I pack?

Bring layered clothing, a warm layer, waterproof jacket, gloves, warm hat, extra socks and underwear, trekking boots with ankle support, campsite footwear, a headlamp, sunscreen and sunglasses.

What trekking equipment is provided?

KAGAN provides tents and kitchen staff. You should bring a sleeping bag, filter bottle, mattress and a 40–50 L backpack. A trekking stick is optional. You carry your own backpack, while porter horses carry luggage.

What are the booking and payment conditions?

A €300 deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining amount can be paid in cash upon arrival in Bishkek. Bank transfer and credit card payment are also possible, with bank fees not included. The deposit is non-refundable but can be used for a future trip.

Do I need a visa to enter Kyrgyzstan?

Citizens of the EU, Canada, Japan, Singapore and some other countries can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 60 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Other nationalities should check the official Kyrgyzstan e-visa system.

Nous avons apprécié le fait d'être en autonomie pour découvrir le pays, tout en n'ayant pas à se préoccuper du planning et des activités et des commodités ennuyantes (aller-retour à l'aéroport).

Nous avons été accueilli dans cette agence à taille humaine, qui nous a présenté notre tour, puis avons eu les clefs de notre 4X4, et c'était parti pour 15 jours en autonomie, avec des check réguliers a distance avec nos guides (anglophone puis francophone).

Pour une des premières proposées par l'agence, rien à redire, tout s'est bien passé, chaque stop avait son intérêt, chaque lieu valait la peine d'être vue afin de bien profiter du Kirghizistan.

Nous avons pu également adapter le séjour initial proposé puisque nous restions quelques jours en plus.

Lors de notre séjour, un voyant moteur s'est allumé sur la voiture, l'agence Kagan a su réagir et nous trouver un mécanicien à notre étape, qui a réparé la panne (injecteur mort), sans le moindre frais pour nous, et sans la moindre contrainte car le mécanicien s'est déplacé jusqu'à notre logement.

Il ne manque qu'un petit livret à recevoir au départ pour être encore plus autonome, et tout serait parfait !
