Five Days Deep in the Suusamyr Backcountry

Leave the resort behind and spend five days ski touring through the wild Suusamyr valley, sleeping in a traditional yurt camp between climbs. This backcountry route takes in Too-Ashuu, Kichi Suusamyr, Aramza Suu and the Ala-Bel Pass, with fresh terrain to climb and descend most days.

This tour is for skiers already comfortable off-piste and touring on skins, led by a local guide who gives an evening briefing on the next day’s route. It is not suitable for complete beginners.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This tour is designed for intermediate to advanced skiers who are comfortable skiing off-piste and touring on skins. It is not suitable for complete beginners.

No. Ski touring equipment (skis, skins, boots, poles) is not included and should be brought with you, suitable for backcountry use up to 4,000m altitude.

The best season for this tour is from January to mid-March, when snow conditions in the Suusamyr valley are most reliable for ski touring.

Warm layered clothing, a waterproof shell, gloves, a hat, sunglasses or ski goggles, sturdy winter boots, plus a shovel, probe and beacon for backcountry safety.

The visa is not required for EU, Canadian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Malaysian and Japanese passport holders with at least 6 months validity, for stays up to 60 days. No mandatory vaccine.

To confirm your booking, a €300 deposit is required. The deposit is non-refundable in case of cancellation. The remaining balance is paid in cash on arrival in Bishkek.
