Five Days Deep in the Suusamyr Backcountry
Leave the resort behind and spend five days ski touring through the wild Suusamyr valley, sleeping in a traditional yurt camp between climbs. This backcountry route takes in Too-Ashuu, Kichi Suusamyr, Aramza Suu and the Ala-Bel Pass, with fresh terrain to climb and descend most days.
This tour is for skiers already comfortable off-piste and touring on skins, led by a local guide who gives an evening briefing on the next day’s route. It is not suitable for complete beginners.

BISHKEK → SUUSAMYR VALLEY
Your guide meets you at the airport. Rest, shower and breakfast at the Madison Hotel, then transfer to the Suusamyr valley. Optional skiing at the Too-Ashuu resort before overnight and dinner at the lodge, 3,000m.

TOO-ASHUU → OTMOK YURT CAMP
Start of the ski touring, with lunch on the mountain top. Return to the resort, then drive to the yurt camp in the Otmok area.
🚗 Ski Touring +700m 🚗 Transfer 100 km 🏕 Yurt Camp
STATION DE SKI DE KARAKOL
Ski touring straight from the yurt camp, crossing the river before climbing into the Kichi Suusamyr range. Lunch in the mountains, then back to the same camp.
🏔 Suusamyr Valley 🏨 Yurt Camp
STATION DE SKI DE KARAKOL
A roughly 20km drive to the start point, crossing the river by bridge before touring up into the Aramza Suu mountains. Lunch at altitude, with an evening guide briefing.
YURT CAMP → OTMOK MOUNTAINS
A 70km drive to the start point for a day with multiple ascents and descents on the same slopes, around 140km covered in total.

A short drive to the final day of backcountry skiing, with lunch in the mountains before returning to the yurt camp for overnight and dinner.
