What is winter like in Kyrgyzstan?

Winter in Kyrgyzstan means snow, cold mountain mornings and big temperature changes between the city and the mountains.

The ski season generally runs from December to March, while our backcountry ski & yurt trip runs from February to mid-March.

If you’re planning a ski trip, bring proper winter layers, waterproof clothing, gloves and ski goggles. For backcountry trips, you’ll also need specialist equipment and a much higher level of fitness.

f you’ve never skied before or you’re still learning, start with our ski resort trip. The itinerary is designed for beginner and intermediate skiers.

Our backcountry trips are different. You should already be comfortable skiing off-piste and be physically prepared for long days in the mountains.
